Paintball Gun Accessories and Parts

As with most anything man made, some of the parts for you paintball marker may have to be replaced. Either from wear and tear or user abuse, once in a while you may want to change out some of the parts. The great thing is most of the manufactures make this an easy process. From including the tools with the purchase of the marker, to selling them separate, even the replace parts and upgrades can be purchased. The fun part is most of us will upgrade. This is one way to step your game up the the next level.

The barrels are a great way to replace a part and change the whole nature of the gun. For example, the A-5 from Tippmann. The standard barrel length is 8.5 inches. This can be replaced with the A-5 Flatline™ Barrel. This upgrade is designed for accuracy and range, while eliminating the need of arching your shot. The patented technology from Tippmann creates a backspin for the level and precise shot all paintballers strive for, while it also increases range by 100 feet. There is also the A-5 Sniper 14 inch barrel. Designed for greater accuracy and greater distance over the standard barrels. There is also the A-5 Sniper 16 inch barrel too. This is just to give you an idea of how many parts may be available. The A-5™ has a wide choice of just barrels, and we have not even discussed the choices of different tanks, shrouds, triggers, and all the smaller parts such as o-rings.

Although the various little parts of the paintball gun are far to numerous to mention in the section, it is important to know that these simple and most of the time inexpensive parts and pieces are available. The manufactures would not be happy if you was not using a paintball gun just because of some little piece that cost less then a cup of coffee was keeping you from playing the sport or even worse yet, bad mouthing their product.  How well would you speak of the product if there was no replacement parts or upgrade parts?

Paintball Gun Package

The paintball gun package can be of very good help to the purchasing of paintball equipment and gear. Most of the packages are great for the beginner or the novice. All the packages can and will vary. The addition of the mask and the gas canisters, this is great for the beginner. But, some of the packages take a gun and place some of the upgrades that a more advanced player would find very attractive.

The gear and supplies can vary from the mask, to tanks, tools , barrels, grips and a wide selection of great products. Once you decide on the gun or marker you want, try looking for the package. Great deals can be found if you look. Some of the packages will require a little bit of assembly. The bright side of this is it will allow you to become a little more familiar with the new marker and supplies, but the great thing is most packages include the tools you will need.  Some of the packages have a carring case to put all of the new stuff into.

When trying to decide on the paintball package it is important to keep in mind what you are looking for in the different types of guns. The level of your skill and what position you want to assume, for instance, if you want a sniper paintball gun instead of a entry level gun, will of course determine what package you choose.

As in any sport, it is important to use all the safety equipment available. True, the paintball is made of a soft gelatin capsule, but when it is ejected from the barrel of a paintball gun it is traveling at a good clip and it really does hurt when hit. The vest and chest protectors are a must. Along with offering some padding to absorb the hits, they also have pockets and places to carry a lot of the gear you may need during to game. From the pants, gloves and elbow and knee pads, it is important to protect yourself.  Some of the protective clothing or gear may come in the paintball marker package and this addition may help to make the package a real value.

As you can tell, there is more to the sport of paintball then just a gun.  Being able to work on your gun and change out the different parts, will of course help with the overall maintaince of the marker.  Cleaning the gun is one of best ways to ensure proper operation.  It will also help you to detect a problem before you get in the field.

Paintball Gun Marker

The paintball gun marker is what the paint ball gun is referred to. This probably goes back to the beginning, even before the term paintball.  James Hale, employed at the Daisy Manufacturing is credited for the making and patenting for what has become known as the first paintball gun. The need for farmers to mark the livestock and loggers to mark the trees was the inspiration of the marker. The paint was a oil base paint. At this time, the paint was needed to last for a long time. The paintball used at first was designed by Charles Nelson. The marker was called the Nelspot007.

It wasn’t until the early 1980’s that the first paintball game was enjoyed. The participants was twelve players, in New Hampshire who played the first ever game of capture the flag. The paintball and markers have come a long, long way since that time. The first paintball gun designed for the paintball game was called the Splatmaster, invented by Robert G. Shepherd in 1985. The marker first enclosed in the now standard soft gelatin was invented by George A. Skogg who was employed by Nelson Paint Company. Not only was the marker more accurate, but the highly visible fluid was easy to wash out with a little water and detergent.

The paintball markers of today are designed for the enjoyment of playing a large and various selection of games and game scenarios. One of the paintball markers is the sniper gun. Everything from one on one, to the more the merrier games. These games can be play in almost any type of playing field. The backyard, the woods, indoor and outdoor, from a group of friends to a professional team sponsored by on of the marker manufactures. The professional teams are even shown on some of the sports channels. Most of the paintball marker manufacturers have tournaments. Whether playing in the snow, the sand or a ghost town, there are many different ways to play and enjoy to paintball games.  Being able to vary the themes and locations of the games helps to keep the players from getting bored while developing the different aspects of the game.

There are several different manufactures that produce good quaility equipment.  The different levels of guns such as the entry level, the sniper guns, and the professional levels helps for a wide price selection.  There is something for every player and every skill level and of course there is the cheap paintball markers for the beginners.  And another great option is the upgrades.  The guns can mature with you as your skills evolve from the begainner to the pro.

Sniper Paintball Gun

Using the sniper paintball guns and being the sniper can be one of the most enjoyable aspects of the paintball games. Sneaking around and ambushing your target can be loads of fun. The main goal of the sniper is to make the shot without being seen. Keep in mind you will need to take advantage of some of the accessories and gear that is available from most of your paintball suppliers. The ability to move around without making noise is very important. Depending on the game scenario, you may have to be stationary for some time and take shots from quite a distance.

Being able to blend with your surroundings is one of the things that will keep you from being seen. The slightest movement can and will give your position away. The ability to be still and hold yourself without movement is something that will take a lot of practice; lots of practice. If your team is using communication equipment, try using the ones that fit inside your ear. This helps to avoid the other teams hearing your transmissions from a team mate. Camouflage of your clothes and paintball sniper marker is important.

A sniper barrel is a must. Most of the sniper barrels are 12 to 14 or even 16 inches. The Tippmann .68 Caliber 22 Inch Super Barrel is great for the sniper scenario games.  The sniper barrels allow the paintballs to exit the end of the barrel with only a slight whooshing sound. This effect is to be very low and hopefully not heard even at close distance. Only the paint on your opponents vest should be detected, not you the sniper. The sniper gun should be lightweight. This will help in being able to move quietly and for holding for a long time.  Maker sure the the rules and the game scenario that is being played.  Will this game allow for such accessories and gear as the hand grenades or the landmines?  You will need to make sure of the rules of each game.  This is very important if you are playing a new team for the first time.

Eventually, the sniper will be spotted and taken out of the game. It never hurts to try and figure out how and why you was spotted. Did you do anything to give away your position? Something as slight as an arm or leg movement may have given you away. Was there anything you would like to do different next time? What could you do or use to make yourself a little bit quieter?  Was there something as simple as a elbow pad that might have made you a little more comfortable? Would a different position have worked better with your clothing? All simple things to think of that will make you a better sniper.
